Weekend Away

Andy and I enjoyed a weekend away this weekend thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Hatfield and hotel points we earn from our credit card. The kids stayed back home with the Grandparents and Andy and I enjoyed a weekend away in downtown Madrid.

We were able to catch a late night showing of First Man. It’s been almost a year since we went to the movie theatre together.

We did lots of walking around and enjoyed some delicious meals. We also knocked out a little bit of Christmas shopping.

We enjoyed a tapas lunch. Octopus sandwiches - YUM!

We walked all over Madrid & we had a ton of fun!!

Grandpa and Grandma Time

Haley and Audrey each took a personal day and stayed home from school this week so they could have some individual time with Grandpa and Grandma.

Haley took her day this past Thursday. She painted with Grandma, went to McDonalds for lunch, went to the Chino (little grocery store) for snacks with Grandpa, played at the park with Grandpa and enjoyed churros at the churro stand.

Audrey took her personal day on Friday. She wanted to watch the movie Bolt with Grandpa and Grandma. She also went to our neighborhood cafe for a treat with Grandma. After that she went to the Chino for treats with Grandpa. She then went to Burger King with Grandpa and
Grandma for lunch. They stopped to play at the park on the way home.

Overall, I think both girls had a great day and made lots of memories with their Grandparents!

Halloween

We enjoyed painting pumpkins this Halloween. The kids had their language tutor u til 7:30 PM, so we didn’t think we’d have time to carve pumpkins and still get to bed on time. We decided to paint pumpkins instead and it turned out to be so much fun!

Nathan painted his version of a Minecraft character.

Haley (on the left) and Audrey both painted picachu’s.

Andy bought the kids some Saints Day treats. Huevos de Santos and buñuelos.

Nathan’s Birthday Party

Nathan turned 10 years old on August 25th, but he wanted to wait until school started to celebrate his birthday. We celebrated his birthday at the end of October with a Star Wars party at our house.
