We are so Proud

Abby and Nathan both made decisions to follow Christ in the past month.  We are so Proud of them!  We've been praying for years that they would make this decision & it's such a blessing that they did.  Abby came to me one night at the end of April and told me she wanted to follow Christ.  Andy is home 99% of the time at night & this one night he just happened to be out getting a haircut.  I always imagined us both leading our children to Christ.  I called Andy & he was way across town & he told me that if the Holy Spirit was moving in her little heart then I should follow!  So, I had the great pleasure of talking with Abby about what it means to have a relationship with God. She wrote this sweet note after she became a Christian.

Here's what she wrote:  April 23, 2014 - I went to my Mom's room and prayed to ask Jesus into my heart.  Me and my Mom talked about accepting Jesus into my heart.  I know I am a sinner and I know Jesus died on the cross.  Dear God I know I am a sinner and I want to ask you to forgive me.  Please come and live in my heart.  Please make the Holy Spirit guide me all of my days.

She is beautiful on the inside and out!

Andy always said that he thought Nathan would become a believer shortly after Abby did.  They just have a close relationship & it was hard to imagine Abby doing something without Nathan following close behind.  He was right!

A couple weeks after Abby became a Believer, Nathan came up to me after our Bible Story time and whispered in my ear,"I want to become a Christian."   It caught me off guard because here again, Andy was gone that evening.  With Nathan being so young, I really wanted Andy to be here to talk with Nathan.  I called Andy and he rushed home.  Nathan has such a sensitive heart and he really wanted to make a commitment to follow God!  We were so happy for him.

Look at this sweet little guy!

Our kiddos

I love to cook in the kitchen with our kids . . . most of the time.  It does get a little hard when they all want to be in there at once!

This Little Man is my right hand man in the kitchen.  He loves to cook with me.

Granddaddy and Grandmamma sent us some Rice Crispy's and some marshmallows.  We all enjoyed eating Rice Crispy Treats.  Here's Haley showing off her treat.

Isn't he handsome?  I just love this boy!

This picture makes me happy!  Andy surprised me with a HUGE box of Hershey Chocolate Bars for my Birthday.  What a treat!

My little fix it man.  He's growing up to be just like his Daddy!

Things we see around town

I love this little guy.  He visits our house on a regular basis.  He is an African Paradise Monarch.

We had a big meeting last month & we wanted all our guests to see a traditional coffee ceremony.  We have the best coffee in the whole wide world!  They start off by roasting the raw coffee beans, then they pound them and boil them in water.  Oh, sooooo good!

I love the things we see out on the road.  I thought this truck was funny.  They sure piled it high with foam mattresses.

No Water???

This is what happens when we don't have water for days on end.  We get desperate to get our kids clean and send them out in the rain to take a shower.

Bunk Bed

We did it !!  Andy built the bunk bed and I painted it.  We finally had some time to get it in the girls room & I love how it turned out.

Climbing Trees

We went to an outdoor restaurant a few weeks ago & the kids loved climbing in the trees nearby!

He was just acting though.  He had a blast in the tree.

What the twins do when left unattended

We had a big meeting the beginning of May & I was exhausted when it was finished.  I sat down in my recliner one morning and promptly fell asleep.  This is what the twins do when they are left to their own devices:

I love to walk in and see how these girls have fallen asleep each night.  Audrey is in the front of the picture and Haley in back.

Haley LOVES these camels.  She takes them with her everywhere.

Going On's in April and May

Whew!  We've been busy.  When we get into busy season's, it's hard for me just to keep up with our family life, much less this blog.  Things are slowing down for us again, so I'm trying to wade through our pictures so I can get caught back up.

We started off April with lots of visits to see our friends.  John and Ababa are long time friends of ours. We met them when we lived out country & now we live just down the road from each other.

Abby and Barci - they've been friends since they were babies.

These condos are going up all over the Capital.  Most of our friends aspire to live in one of these.
