Random Happenings at Our House

It's Spring Break this week around here.  Abby's had a great time having playdates, sleepovers, swimming at the Sheraton and just hanging out with the Family.

One of her favorite things to do is play with her American Girl Doll.  For Abby's Birthday, Grandma Snow made some clothes for Abby's American Girl Doll.  Abby gets her American Girl dressed up for every time we come and go & she always sleeps right next to Abby in her very own doll pajamas.  One day, Abby tried to dress like her American Girl (same type of outfit).

I looked out the kitchen doors one day and found the twins laying like this.  I asked what they were doing and they said they were looking at shapes in the clouds.

Audrey (green dress) and Haley

There's always time for a checkup at our house.  We have 2 little mini Doc McStuffins around our house.

The twins LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the movie Toy Story.  The other day the kids got their sleeping bags out and watched Toy Story.

Nathan's newest passion is the lego starwars website.  He found out about it in an advertisement that came in a package of legos & he wants to play it just about every day.

Abby was "star student of the week" a couple of weeks ago and she filled out this form for school.  I thought it was cute.

Bunk Beds

The Bunk Bed Project is coming along quite nicely, thanks to my handy Husband!! He's been putting it together on our front porch & he's doing a great job.

Andy finished the woodworking part today.  Now we need to sand and stain it!  Exciting.  The girls will have a bunk bed in their room before we know it.

Weekend Entertainment

We don't have a lot of activities around here on the weekends, so we try and think up our own fun.  Abby decided to have a spa day & Abby and the twins just LOVED it.  She picked flowers from our yard and put them in a bucket of water.  Notice the little table she made, complete with a tablecloth, water, snack and her fingernail polish.

This was also the day that red nail polish got left out in the yard and that little chair Abby is sitting in along with Audrey's bare backside all got covered in red nail polish.  Nail polish, when put on really thick, is hard to get off a baby's bum.

Andy spent the day working on a bunk bed for the girls room.  It's coming along quite nicely.  I don't have the latest picture, but it actually looks like a bunk bed now!

For dinner we decided to grill out hot dogs.  Hot Dogs are EXPENSIVE here, so they are a real treat.  It was a weekend full of homemade fun!

Happy Birthday Abby

FREEZE!  It's a Frozen Party!  We had a Blast celebrating Abby's 8th Birthday.  She loves the movie Frozen, so she wanted a Frozen party with her friends.

We made "Frozen Themed" Foods for her party. We made an Olaf Cake and Snowflake Cupcakes

We had a Snowman Fruit Bowl

Olaf Noses (Carrots and Ranch)

We also had snowballs (marshmallows), Crackers with snowflake shaped cheese, snowman and snowflake sugar cookies and popcorn.  It was a hit!

We also had a fun "Frosty Delight" drink.  It was a combination of sprite, koolaid and ice cream.

We played several games. Pin the tail on Olaf had a lot of winners, so I think there might have been a little peeking going on underneath their blindfolds.  :-)

We played a game where the girls were blindfolded and they had to draw a picture.  We started out telling them to draw three circles, one on top of the other.  Then they added three dots going from top to bottom in the middle circle.  Then they added a smile, a nose and eyes in the top circle.  They finished it off with two stick arms.  They seemed to enjoy it and we had some pretty good artists in the group.

After that, we had a dance off to the frozen soundtrack.

Abby said it was a GREAT Birthday Party, so I guess that makes it a success!  It was fun!

Nathan's Self Hair Cut

I am currently mourning the loss of Nathan's long hair.  He hasn't lost it yet because I just cannot get myself to shave his hair short.  What happened you ask?  He decided to trim his own hair.  This is the result:

See that REALLY short hair in the front middle and left.  Ohhhhh.  I know it will grow back.  Guess he will be getting a buzz cut tomorrow.
